Alexandra Paez-Quijano, sculpture, drawings, text
The years seem to meld into only seconds. So much happens in a decade, in two. Most events in my life, unless
recorded, have become a blur, so I'm thankful to have done just that, recorded a lot of these past years through my work, which
still seem like a day or two, or even a thousand years ago.
In this case, time is relative I suppose. What matters to me now, is to have learned through the struggles and to apply what I have learned, as well as sharing this with others. To love and to appreciate the least, is the greatest thing I have learned in these past two decades. A journey through the soul happens while I'm at work. It's what I come up with at the end of a piece, at the end of the day, where I sense that if I have not loved, nothing really matters much.
Two decades are no longer relative nor a blur, but a concise and very real lesson for the heart. I continue to work on random pieces which represent many of those moments and yet so few.
