Gloria Almada-Russell, Glough Stained Glass
I have always been fascinated by glass, from beach glass - bleached by the sun and smoothed by the sea - to Murano blown glass. With stained glass, I am enchanted by the stark contrast of light and lead, the mixture of translucence and opaque glass, and the way the glass is affected by the constantly changing light.
My original glass panels are mostly from photos that I have taken and traced. My glass lamps take a more angular approach. All of my glassworks celebrate the rich colors, textures and magic of glass.
